At Home with the Word is the annual publication which includes all the Sunday Mass Readings for the Liturgical Year, beginning on the First Sunday of Advent (November 27 2016) and concluding on the Feast of Christ the King (November 26, 2017). Copies in English will be available for purchase for $5 each after Mass on Satuday November 12 and Sunday November 13.
This book invites you to become at home with God's Word. It can be used for quiet reflection or as the focus of lively discussion. It can help you to ponder God's Word in preparation for the Sunday liturgy, and to live God's Word in all the circumstances of your life.
For each Sunday the book provides full texts for the First Reading (usually from the Old Testament), the Psalm, the Second Reading (from the New Testament) and the Gospel. The Scripture Readings are supplemented by insights from Biblical scholars, suggestions for the practice of faith, hope or charity, and additional downloadable questions and activities for catechumenal groups, adult faith sharing groups and families.
The book is very suitable for individuals, households, small groups, catechumens, candidates and sponsors.
The art work for this year illustrates the story of creation, from artist James B. Janknegt.
