Mission
This ministry contributes to St. Thomas More’s bereavement efforts to provide love, comfort and the healing support of God to parish families after the death of a close family member.
Sympathy Cards
Volunteers mail a card to the bereaved in the first few weeks after death of a loved one. [No additional volunteers needed at this time.] For more information contact Joy Herzog at 919-932-6505 or fherzog42@gmail.com
Bereavement Letters
One and two weeks, respectively, after a funeral is held at St. Thomas More, volunteers send a letter and a self-care packet from Fr. Scott and the Pastoral Care Team to the closest relative of the deceased. Volunteers continue to mail monthly letters for one year after the loss of a loved one.
