GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD (MATTHEW 6:11)
What thanks can we render to God for his goodness and kindness to us that we are still alive and full of hope despite devastating effects of the Corona Virus., when families suffered many loss of lives, suffered loss of earnings, loss of businesses, lockdowns etc. In the midst of all these setbacks and darkness the Lord has not left us, and like the song of the angels in the night sky to those shepherds minding their flocks: "Glory to God in the Highest." In the darkness of that night the shepherds found the promised savior of the world. We too can be conscious of the fact that as some could not get air to breathe, God provided us with oxygen to breath and have life. As others could not survive the Covid-19 pandemic and lost their lives, we are fortunate to still be alive. As some people died out of hunger, God provided us our daily bread. As some are suffering in war torn parts of the world and displaced, we are peacefully living in our homes, as floods carried away people and destroyed crops, we are lucky to be alive and full of hope that things will get better. As Christians, hope is one of the theological virtues so despite the misfortunes and trials that came our way this year, we still count ourselves lucky to be alive with the hope for a better and brighter future.
I am also using this occasion of my Christmas greetings to thank you all for all your prayers and material support for my Silver Jubilee. The occasion of this Jubilee has made me to understand that the people really appreciate what I am doing. This has given me energy to now go all out to work for the poor and needy. I am equally happy that I have served this much and will never regret for this work. It was marvelous and people of all walks of people came, including Muslims and traditionalists.
TRANSPORT
Due to the frequent breakdown of my Nissan Pickup truck which is used to convey the food to the poor in their houses, I have negotiated with the Transport company for a deal. The body of the car is still good but the problem is with the engine but we have been able to change some of the engine parts and some electronic parts. The mechanical engineers after assessing the car said I can sell it for $11,500.00=Ghc 66,125.00. I have also been able to raise from outside the parish donation for my jubilee $6,665.00=Ghc38,323.75 coming from friends and sympathizers of my work. The total cost of a new Nissan Pickup is $26,554.19. I am now looking for $8,489.19 =Ghc 48,812.84 to complete the payment. I am praying and hoping that one day I will be able to secure a strong Nissan Pickup to facilitate my work.
FOODSTUFF
So far over Ghc 100,000.00 has been given out to purchase food but the issue this year is that due to the heavy rains, the crop production has been very poor. This year prices of foodstuff have started at a very high price. Last year a bag of groundnut at the harvest time was Ghc 100.00 but this year it started at Ghc 230.00. A bag of maize started at the harvest time at Ghc 90.00 but this year a bag of Maize at this starting time is Ghc 200.00. This applies to the rest of the foodstuffs. We hope and pray that the Lord in his own goodness will take care of his poor people.
I want on behalf of the poor people and all the beneficiaries of your support thank you and wish you a Merry Christmas and A fruitful and Happy New Year.
