For many years St. Thomas More has had a rich tradition of Lent programs, such as Disciples in Mission and Immersed in Christ. For the past two years the parish has used
Living the Eucharist, which is a new, parish-based program designed to help revitalize parish life and spirituality through a more profound experience of Sunday Mass. It helps the entire parish—adults, teens, and families—grow in their Catholic faith and live more fully as disciples of Jesus. Parishioners can take part in adult or teen faith-sharing groups, family activities, and daily devotional Lenten readings. After Easter there will also be a Parish Retreat (May 16
th), and further outreach activities.
Living the Eucharist is available in both English and Spanish.
The program will be offered during Lent 2015 through the Catholic Community of St. Thomas More. The groups will meet in people’s homes in various different times and locations.
Participation in the Study Groups
There are many ways to participate in Living the Eucharist:
You may wish to meet with people in your own neighborhood, at a time and place which is convenient for you.
You may choose to meet with people in a nearby neighborhood, if the day and time suits you better.
You may belong to one of the many ministries at St. Thomas More. Members of your ministry (for example the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Contemporary Choir) may choose to meet together during Lent.
You may already belong to a group who meet together every year during Lent.
There are three formats for the groups:
Adult Groups (adults meet together with a facilitator, usually at someone’s home or at Church)
Teen Groups (teenagers adults meet together with an adult facilitator, usually at someone’s home or at Church)
Family Groups (parents meet at home with their own children, or several families join together)
We hope that you will consider:
Joining a group as a Participant, or
Offering your skills as a Facilitator, or
Offering your home as a Host
