Catechists
The word Catechist means “one who catechizes.” It is a derivative of the word Catechesis which means to “echo.” A catechist, then, is one who echoes the Word of God and passes on the Catholic tradition and teachings. But more than just sharing factual knowledge, a catechist is a minister of the Church, one who helps to form the faith of others and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. A catechist is a mentor, witness, faith sharer, and model in the Christian way of life.
