In light of the rapid spread of the new Omicron Covid variant, the Come and See Retreat has been rescheduled for February 18th and 19th, 2023. The Come and See Core Committee at St. Thomas More thanks all parishioners for understanding and patience as we navigate these challenging times. Be assured that all alumni of the Come and See Retreats and our Parish Community will be in our prayers during this time. We will host and inform the parish about periodic faith formation events and meetings related to our spiritual growth toward intentional discipleship.
Mission Statement:
The Come and See Retreat aims to proclaim the Gospel to parishioners through a series of powerful personal testimonies of God’s love and mercy which renews their relationship with Christ and steers them toward intentional discipleship.
About the Come and See Retreat:
The Come and See Retreat is an Annual Parish Retreat that leads parishioners into a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit and steers them toward intentional discipleship. Attendees participate in testimonials by fellow parishioners related to six theological areas that progressively build on top of each other namely: God's Love; God's Mercy; Knowing Jesus; Following Jesus; Prayer and Life in the Spirit.
During this Retreat, the Holy Spirit deeply touches the hearts of people. Attendees have a chance to reflect on theological areas related to testimonials from fellow parishioners, via small group reflections. The choir ushers in vibrant grace through their wonderful songs and music.
Participants also partake in the celebration of the Holy Mass as one faith community, and further their fellowship during lunch and group discussions.
With a significant rise in year-on-year growth rate and the highest rate of new attendees (61%) in 2020, the retreat has become an effective medium of advancing our parish’s overarching goal of intentional discipleship.
An overwhelming majority (95%) of the attendees who responded felt that the retreat enhanced their prayer experience and had a positive impact on their spirituality. Analysis on retreatants’ feedback indicated they were impressed with key areas such as sharing in small groups, prayer experiences, new prayer practices and methods, heartfelt testimonies, their journey with the Holy Spirit, and fellowship.
