NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference) is a three-day celebration for Catholic teens. This event is hosted by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry every other year. NCYC 2017 will be held in Indianapolis, IN from November 16-19, 2017.
NCYC involves dynamic speakers, powerful workshops, music, interactive activities, and a chance to meet more than 23,000 teens from all over the United States.
The STM Office Youth Ministry in collaboration with other parishes in the Deanery, coordinates the details for this trip including transportation, lodging, and registration. The cost for NCYC is still pending, but interested teens/adults will need to put a deposit of $75 to hold their spot. The trip includes everything except a few meals.
There will be an informational meeting for interested teens and their parents on
Sunday, April 23rd at 6:45pm in the Friends and Family Hall
To Register, each participant must fill out a Liability Waiver Form and sign a Code of Conduct. $75 deposit due for each participant. Return your paperwork to Georgie Clemens by the May 1st deadline.
2-3 Adult Chaperones will be welcomed and encouraged for the trip to occur.
Final Cost is dependent on a number of factors including the size of the group, the actual rates of the hotel rooms, airefare etc. but we do not expect the cost to go above $650.00 per person.(after parish subsidy). The fee includes roundtrip air transportation to Indianapolis; it will also include housing, a meal plan, and registration fee to the NCYC conference. A few meals and some other expenses (souvenirs, snacks, etc.) that are not covered by the fee will be incurred. Although there are no scholarships available from diocesan funds, our parish will subsidize a small part of the cost.
We are blessed to have our Pastor, Fr. Scott McCue, join us on this pilgrimmage.
There will be a $75 non-refundable deposit due by May 1st. After we determine how many from our parish will be going, we will determine the final amount due and send a bill of the balance to all those who have registered.
In a distinctly Catholic setting the National Catholic Youth Conference invites participants to:
The National Catholic Youth Conference is a powerful, biennial, three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers (of high school age) and their adult chaperones. More than 23,000 young people and their chaperones attended 2015 NCYC in Indianapolis.
The 2017 National Catholic Youth Conference is November 16-18, back in Indianapolis, with the theme Called/Llamados.
The program includes keynote presentations, prayer, workshops, Mass, and opportunities to participate in reconciliation and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, as well as recreational activities, concerts, and exhibits. A key component of NCYC is the thematic park which is a blend of traditional exhibit booths with interactive areas featuring service projects, games, recreation, live musical performances, arts, and sports.
