In this month’s column, I wanted to update you on our parish finances as part of our commitment to keep this information before you so that you are well aware of where we stand.
At our finance council meeting in May, we looked at financials through April. Overall, our financials look strong for this fiscal year. I am very grateful for your support. Our “Why Participate” appeal last October was well received, and our community stepped up to keep our operation (liturgies, ministries, services, and activities) going as originally planned in our 2015-16 budget. In the meantime, we have been working on controlling expenses closely and have also realized some savings on this front.
As we look forward to the next fiscal year, which starts on July 1st, I also want to remind you of the importance of continuing to support the parish during the summer months when many travel for vacation. I want to encourage you to consider using automated giving for your contributions to the parish. It is very easy; you can visit our website

Father Labosky and I thank you for your stewardship, which provides the necessary resources for us to have the wonderful parish that is St. Thomas More. This is a parish where people are engaged, active, and joyful, and where our mission to “pray, serve and spread the gospel with joy” is lived out each day.
