Resolution time! The New Year brings the yearning for all of us to have new energy and dedication to become better people: body, mind, and spirit. The gyms will be crowded this month and the libraries too. We will consider taking classes for cycling, foreign languages, and meditation. A valuable experience in life is the intentional determination to better our abilities. Resolution come from the word r-e-s-o-l-u-t-e. Not re-learning to play the lute, but resolute as in, admirably purposeful and determined. It is a continuation of our intentional discipleship with Jesus Christ. Placing ourselves in a place that will enhance our spiritual growth and well-being.
We invite you to go the parish website under ministries and groups and purposely choose a group to enhance your spiritual life. All our groups here at the parish are really faith sharing and faith building groups. Pick a group in an area that coincides with your interests. Within these groups, we encounter people we have things in common with and get to know them. Sharing our thoughts, insights, and experiences together a group, we also share our faith journey and lives. The San Isidro Labrador Garden team doesn't just talk about weeds. Being together, they share their life and reflect on the spiritual life. The same is true with the Catholic Daughters of America, the Knights of Columbus, and the Friends in Faith 50+ group; all opportunities to intentionally strengthen and enhance the spiritual life. A resolution is a firm decision to do something. Here at St. Thomas More, it is a firm decision to do something that is fun, too! Many blessings!
