One of the biggest influences in my life that prompted me to discern the Religious Life was Fr. Tom Eckert, C.S.C. as he was my first introduction to the Congregation of Holy Cross. 
 
The biggest piece of advice that helped me in my discernment was to not discern multiple things at once, but to rather give your whole heart to prayer and discernment with one Vocation or to one religious order at a time. In this, you should not keep yourself from shifting your focus as God moves your heart.
