Who Influenced/Inspired you to Priesthood: My parents definitely influenced my vocation through their support throughout my discernment. I am also grateful to Father Joe Freedy of the diocese of Pittsburgh, who gave me a really good example of the priesthood lived joyfully, and to the priests who helped me find my way to the Capuchins: Father Lester Knoll, OFM Cap, Father Thomas Betz, OFM Cap, and Father Rafa Anguiano, OFM Cap.
What would you say to a young man who thinks he may have a vocation: I would say that the most important part of discernment is trusting in God’s will, no matter where he wants you. If you think that God is calling you to the seminary, then the worst thing you could do for yourself is ignore it. God is all-knowing, so of course he knows best where you will be most happy, and not only happy, but holy. If you believe that God is truly calling you to the seminary, you can be sure that it won’t be a waste of time.
