Father Gregory M. Plow, TOR, KHS, is a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where he graduated with a BA in mathematics, a concentration in education, teacher's certification, and minors in statistics and art history. He earned a Master's of Science in Education Administration from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a principal's license and a concentration in curriculum instruction and professional development. He also has earned a Master's of Divinity. After his undergraduate career, he taught mathematics at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, NC, for two years. He subsequently entered formation for the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular (TOR) of St. Francis of Penance in the province of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Loretto, Pennsylvania. He professed his first vows on May 31, 2003 and his solemn (final) vows on July 20, 2007. He was ordained a priest on the Feast of the Dedication of the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in May, 2008. Father Gregory was invested as a canon in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem on October 21, 2017. He has undertaken numerous ministries in Loretto, Pennsylvania; Baltimore, Maryland; Washington, D.C., and Herndon, Virginia. Father Gregory began his ministry and work at Franciscan University of Steubenville in autumn 2006. Since then he has served as assistant coordinator of Household Life for two years and director of Household Life for seven years. He has been chaplain to the Franciscan University men's and women's cross country teams for 11 years and has served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Father Gregory enjoys running as his exercise and as a hobby. He has run fifteen marathons and three ultra-marathons. He used the ultra-marathons as fundraisers for Franciscan University's Spirit of St. Francis Scholarship, which helps the neediest students to attend Franciscan University.
