Mission Statement/Purpose The St Michael Ministry seeks to provide for the overall safety, health and welfare of the Parish Community (parishioners, family members, guests and employees of STM) for all church-sponsored activities, events & gatherings -- including the protection & preservation of the reputation, integrity and sanctity of our church, its rites, services, community outreach capabilities, property and facilities.
Major Accomplishments Our ministry is based on each of our ministers providing any one or all of four capabilities for the benefit of our Parish Community.
Situational Awareness - keeping a watchful eye over our Community whenever we gather
Safety & Security - e.g. helping our parishioners evacuate to safety if necessary
Medical Response - providing medical attention if a parishioner is injured or sick
Command & Control - working to contain & control an incident and engaging with Emergency First Responders as necessary.
All of these capabilities are deployed whenever our Parish Community gathers in worship or any other church- sponsored activity.
Major Activity Ministers provide a variety of skills and capabilities, based on their experience and preference, for the safety and welfare of our Parish community including regular training and development for any/all parishioners interested in acquiring new skills and capabilities to aid and assist in emergency situations.
Meeting Frequency The Ministry Team meets quarterly to plan activities and review the ongoing needs of our Parish Community. Ministers volunteer their time when they attend their regularly scheduled masses and church-sponsored events & activities.
Meeting Venue Meetings are held in the Church or one of the meeting rooms. Ministers provide assistance as needed at regularly scheduled masses & other church-sponsored activities and events held on church grounds.
Estimated Time Commitment for Volunteers Time commitment by each of our ministers typically ranges from a few hours each month and can be a part of their regularly scheduled attendance at mass and other church- sponsored events.
Special Skills Each of our ministers brings a varied set of experiences, skills & capabilities to our ministry. Ministers come from a variety of professional backgrounds ranging from Medical Practitioners, Fire & Rescue, Law Enforcement, Military Service, Complex Risk Management, Safety Protection and Education.
